Last weekend, we hosted our first photography workshop focused on the Iberian lynx in Sierra Morena, Andalusia, southern Spain.
During this workshop, we enjoyed several observation sessions to spot this iconic feline, the great Mediterranean cat, and had the opportunity to test equipment provided by OM System and f-stop, enabling our clients to capture images of the highest quality.
Out of the five sessions we conducted, we spotted lynxes in four of them—a remarkable success. This allowed us to photograph several individuals in different lighting conditions and observe them freely in their natural habitat without barriers, learning about their behavior and how this cunning feline thrives in its environment.
The workshop was hosted at Cortijo Gato Clavo, an oasis where the Sierra’s ecosystem flourishes naturally, and a regular roaming area for lynxes. Respect and integration are the cornerstones of a project committed to the conservation of this species through responsible education and ethical wildlife observation.
Of course, we didn’t just enjoy the lynxes; we also observed other wildlife that inhabits these latitudes, such as the wild rabbit (the lynx’s hyper-specialized prey), griffon vulture, european stonechat, black redstart, and blue rock thrush.
These are some of the photographs we captured as a summary. You can read our clients’ reviews on the “Who we are?” page.
The next edition will take place in spring (11-13 of April), when the flowers will beautifully frame our invaluable cats in the heart of the Iberian Peninsula.
Stay tuned for more updates about the next workshop!
